(FT3) camera and lens roadmap

roadmap1
I made a timeline that shows you the rumored next cameras and lenses. Please keep in mind that this are rumors and may the timeline will change!

As far as I know we should expect following cameras until the end of this year:
– Olympus E-successor in September
– Olympus MicroFourThirds camera in November/December
– Panasonic MicroFourThirds camera in November/December or Q1 2010

.

Following lenses should been released between August and Q1 2010

Four Thirds lenses
– Olympus 100mm (f/2.8?) macro
– Olympus 14mm (f/2.0?)
– Olympus 25mm(f/1.4?)
– Olympus 35mm(f/1.4??)

Micro Four Thirds lenses
– three Panasonic lenses (30mm f/1.4, 16-50 f/2.5-4.8 and 20mm f/1.7)

UPDATE: We havn’t got any information about the Panasonic 45mm f/2.8 macro lens (see the lens here). We don’t know when the lens will be released.
– two Olympus zoom lenses (???)

Hope it helps you to get an idea what’s (may!) coming next  ;)

Still missing…

20mm

Would’nt the GH1 with 20mm 1.7 lens be favolous?

Made a availability check today and the camera is still not in stock anywhere. I do not know what Panasonic is waiting for. They announced the camera in March (March 3th!!!) and after 5 months most of you can’t still buy the camera. The camera received high ratings from various big websites (look at dpreview) and from US to Hong Kong nobody knows when there will be a camera in stock.

And finally what’s the sense of showing the 20mm 1.7 lens and then let the user wait for it since months and months? Please Panasonic tell us when you want to release definitely the lens!

(FT3) Updated2->The next three Panasonic MicroFourThirds lenses.

img_l_leica

We already told you that Panasonic will keep working with Leica on new lenses. Finally “someone” told us which lenses you could be seeing in Q4 2009 or Q1 2010.

- 20mm f/1.7 (This is the only lens Panasonic has officially announced). This lens hasn’t be made in collaboration with Leica and should be released in autumn.

16-50mm f/2.5-4.8 OIS (summarit)

30mm f/1.4 OIS (summilux)

The last two lenses should be released together with the new Panasonic MicroFourThirds camera at the end of the year.

UPDATE: The 16-50 f/2.8-4.5 should be optimized for video. That explains the 16mm starting focal length which is unusual for photography but a normal focal length for videocameras.
UPDATE2: I made a little mistake. The source told me the 16-50mm lens will have a f/2.5-4.8 aperture! That’s why it is called Summarit (because it starts with 2.5)!
P.S.: I know it sounds a little unusual but we will soon see if the source has been right!

.

If you need lenses I remind you that Panasonics 45-200mm f/4.0-5.6 Lumix lens is in stock at amazon.com (with heavy discount for $308 only!).
.

And sadly, still none in stock :(5
