Capture and re-focus to be added via future firmware update:
“Enabled by 4K video capture and Panasonic’s DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology, Post Focus will allow users to select a focus point for an image after capture. Unlike true light field capture, Post Focus works by shifting focus during a 30fps burst of 4K footage. In playback, the user can touch the LCD to ‘set focus’ on a particular point and the camera will extract a still image with the specified plane of focus. A firmware update will be available for the newly-minted Panasonic Lumix GX8 and Lumix FZ300 ‘and some other models’ in late 2015 to enable Post Focus, according to the manufacturer.”
