An FT5 rumor about Pentax coming soon at

As you know a few months ago I started I needed a place where I can “park” the rumors I do receive about our competition. I didn’t write a lot on that website but now that Nikon and Pentax are coming with their systems it will become very interesting to follow the website.

To celebrate our first Pentax rumor we created a countdown like we did in the old days of when we started 43rumors ;) In a few hours we will post a few (but surprising) info about the upcoming Pentax mirrorless cameras. Take a look here:

If you want to read all future rumors about all mirrorless system:

P.S.: Pentax will not join Micro Four Thirds (at leats not for now).

Admin, it’s not possible top post comments on the other site. The captcha system is broken.
    So I’ll tell you here:

You are a wicked techno pervert admin to make us wait like this!

  • bilgy_no1

Why is the Mirrorless website camera banner on the top set to Sony Nex system by default?

    • admin

It should work like that. Select the “Panasonic and Olympus MicroFourThirds” tab. Every time you come back on that website it will show the correct tab :)

      • bilgy_no1

Thanks; hadn’t really posted on those blog comments yet. I think this m43 blog is enough fun for me…

  • Since the rumor is not here, Pentax is not releasing m43.

Would they manage to steal the rumormill from the X100?

  • @Admin: Andrea is Your girlfriend??
We want to know more about our “mirrorless celebrities”! ;):D

“Pentax will not join Micro Four Thirds”

More bad news. And it looked so good a month ago. Now there will be no new m4/3 cameras at CP+, no Pentax or Ricox joining, Panasonic is recycling old lenses… What’s next :) ?

    • admin

Miroslav. I also have two “good news rumors” I am working on. But hey ar FT2 only for now. May I post one of these to give you some positive energy :)

      • admin,
It’s a rumor site. FT2 is good enough as long as we remember not to raise our hopes too high. Therefore, get on with it and let us know. Oh, and thanls again for your good work.

      • Miroslav

Of course, go on, I won’t be criticizing you if they turn out not to be true. I just thought Ricoh joining was a done deal… Oh well, they’ll all regret it one day :).

  • Exciting! According to DxOMark, Pentax have the best APS-C sensor on the market right now!
Pentax K5 in 5th place in over all sensor ranking:

    • admin

De facto it is a Sony sensor they are using!

  • potential mount options:
mirrorless k-mount (makes FF possible in future)
    E-mount (sensor connection??)
    Leica M (why not?)
Samsung’s nx or whatever its called (6 users globally)
a new proprietory mount (stupid idea imo)

    mount used in auto 110???

    • admin

      new proprietary :(

      • Greg

C’mon don’t let the rabbit out that fast! Three more hours to go ;)

  • Eric

As a long time Pentax user (my first camera wa a Pentax K1000 in college 15 years ago), I can barely wait to see what they do. I have to admit, m4/3’s is going to have to do something pretty special to keep my business if Pentax announces an APS-C mirrorlesd camera.

    • Mistral75

Who said it will be APS-C?

      • Eric

No one, was just hoping. Well, actually was hoping for full frame, but I’m trying to be realistic. No matter though, MR says it’s going to be 5.6x crop :(

What a complete and total waste of R&D resources by Pentax. An interchangeable lens camera with a sensor that small is utterly pointless.

        • bilgy_no1

So all that the quality compact manfrs need to do is make a fast 70-300mm equivalent fixed lens compact with 1/1.6″ sensor and they’re done…

        • the other Rob

+1, I am trying to think of a reason why I would want to buy the camera, but I am not finding it.

  • shutterwill

so it will be 5.6x crop …..

    • admin

      Yes. That’s a huge surprise…or disappointment ;)

  • Duarte Bruno

    WTF? :O
Is this a new Monty Python Flying Circus episode?

Are they fitting it with a 5mm F0.2 lens? Because anything else it pretty pointless!
