And it is not a surprise that the most sold Panasonic/Olympus lens is the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7. Message to our Olympus and Panasonic product manager..we want more prime lenses!

3 years ago |Since apparently Olympus doesn’t pay attention to forums or user demand for more and more FAST small primes hopefully the sales numbers of the Panasonic 20mm/1.7 will be an eye opener for them. Now keep them coming Panasonic. All the following are needed:
7mm f/4 (or 2.8 if possible)
12mm f/2.8
25mm f/1.4 (or 1.2)
45mm f/1.4
70mm f/2 (or 1.4)

3 years ago |Aie¨.. price of the pana 20mm is realy too high, 3 times the Canon or Nikon, and even costier than the Canon f1.4. Well, for Canon and Nikon, it’s not a real 50mm but a 75 mm FF équiv. But the price is really cool

3 years ago |the 1.7/20 cannot be compared to a 50mm lens, this is an unfair comparison.
You have to look at wider lenses such as the Canon EF 35mm F/2.0 which costs about the same.

3 years ago |I am agree, I want prime lens !
Firstly MFT version of Zuiko 50 F2. I don’t want 1.2 or 1.4 lens, too big, it’s not the MFT goal.

3 years ago |I’m sure they can make a 25mm f/1.4 small enough. Panasonic isn’t far off from from f/1.4 with their 20mm f/1.7 and that lens is tiny. I could deal with a touch more size if it gives me a more DOF control. DOF control is what it’s really about for me with a 25mm or 45mm lens. f/2 isn’t fast enough. The 4/3′s sensor is already at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to shallow DOF, so if there’s not some really fast glass then the system is far less attractive to people like me that love DOF control.

3 years ago |Another message to P&O product managers: All top five lenses are sub $350. Smaller sensor means smaller and cheaper-to-manufacture lenses (with the same FOV and f-stop), so please don’t pocket all of the savings.
Big reasons the Canikon 50mm lenses are cheap are production volume and age which µ43 can’t match. But the 35/1.8 Nikkor hasn’t thaose advantages so should make a good comparison, that’s a realistic price to demand for such type of lens, also for µ43.
