(UPDATED) Three Voigtländer 25mm f/0.95 lenses at Bayern-fotoversand (+ CNET test)

I make no secret here. I am a big fan of that lens and I noticed that it is very very difficoult to find it in Stock somewhere. My sources told me the lens has been sold out at least until early 2011! Bayern Fotoversand is now selling three of them on eBay (Click here). They ship to Europe only but if you are located outside Europe feel free to contact them. They may will make an exception for you!
CNET Asia posted a Hands-on with the Cosina Voigtlander Nokton 25mm F0.95 + image samples on Flickr.
If you need autofocus you might want to wait until Panasonic announced the 25mm f/1.4 Micro Four Thirds lens (To not confuse with the Panasonic/Leica 25mm lens for Four Thirds)
UPDATE: Link corrected. Sorry!

2 years ago |Is it just me or are all the sample pictures on Flickr crappy? The field of depth is so narrow that opening the lens that wide doesn’t render usable images unless you’re a bokeh whore. And you can feed that addiction much cheaper than with that lens…
I’ll wait until we know more about Panasonic’s 25mm f/1.4. I still hope it will be a slim lens, but I doubt it will replace the 20mm f/1.7. In any case, I’ll probably get either one of those…

Under normal circumstances, f4-f8 is the best aperture range for 4/3 and m4/3 in term of IQ. Depend on what type of photos you do, you may need different aperture range (landscape shooters usually shoot from f8 and smaller and macro people shoot f2 and larger for example). Huge aperture like f0.95 is mostly for portrait or macro only. If you shoot outdoor, you’ll have to stop it down to get the photo sharp and in focus. There is no reason why you can’t use aperture against such general rule. I’ve shot macro with f11 and grand landscape with f2.8 (and probably need even shallow DoP for that instance), but they’re exception to the rule.

2 years ago |F0.95 is especially usefull when you shoot video. Shallow DOF is what most of videoshooters wants and this one gives them exactly that.
For pictures.. dunno, DOF at F1 is as F2 on full-frame, which isnt that exceptional.. its kinda nice shallow DOF, usable for almost everything.
Its not true 0.95 as Leica, which is for full-frame, with Leica you get true razor thin DOF. Which is bit unusable even with rangefinder focusing + bokeh of Noctilux is just ugly. This one is in fact nice..

2 years ago |You get a sports car, you’re going to want to see how fast it’ll go. Doesn’t mean that’s the only way you’ll ever drive it. It’s a pretty extreme lens, and everybody is interested to see how far it can be pushed, both in aperture and minimum focusing distance. But it’s got an aperture ring for a reason – if you use it, this lens gives you *more* options, not fewer.
I agree there are lots of inexpensive ways to get a crazy shallow depth of field… But not as many in the 25mm range. Most of the the “need for speed” lenses so far were made for full-frame. I’ve had a lot of fun with my Canon FD 50mm f/1.2. But shooting indoors at an effective focal length of 100mm can feel just as constricting as never changing your aperture.
