There is a worldwide PEN price drop (and GH2 with lens for $745)

ePhotozine (Click here) reports that Olympus UK lowered the price of their complete PEN range. As you know there is also a rebate in USA. I haven’t heard of a new PEN camera announcement any time soon. But what I know that the competion is becoming tuffer and even Canon is going to release a mirrorless system “almost as good as DSLR” suggesting they will use a Four Thirds sized sensor like in the Canon G1X (via MirrorlessRumors).
P.S.: One thing we know is that the GH3 will arrive in late August and the GH2 with 14-42mm lens just got a $100 price drop. It is now in Stock for %749 via Samys at Amazon (Click here).
PEN USA deals (and more)

2 years ago |The PENs were announced in June last year. I was hopeful that new PENs would be announced in June this year, is that not going to happen?

2 years ago |Canon is not going to use a Four Thirds sensor, that’s a mistake.

2 years ago |Not at all. Killing their own SLRs would be a mistake. And what better place to jump in the game than somewhere with a ton of lenses for it already available rather than another stupid proprietary mount people don’t want to (re)invest in from scratch. And i’m not talking about EF mount because that would be stupid. Micro Four Thirds FTW !

2 years ago |As a Canon DSLR shooter, I was certain I would end up with a Canon mirrorless. But if they are using the G1X sensor, then I might just stay with m43!

2 years ago |Canon will never join m43 standard IMO. Even if they end up using 99% samesize sensor.
They make money selling their own lenses and technology…
They will do everything they can to stop uou from using 3rd party lenses

2 years ago |Who said they were joining m43? The post says “same sized sensor”

Probably the G1X sensor with an interchangeable lens mount. Do we really need this?
IMO the market does not need yet another mirrorless lens mount yet I can’t see Canon joining an existing mount.
