The need for speed -> De Oude Delft 50mm f/0.75 on Ebay!

Oh we all love our Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lens. But admit it we always wanted it faster. And if you thought that the f/0.95 aperture of the Noktor is as fast as you can get you were wrong!
On Ebay we just found the extream rare De Oude Delft 50mm f/0.75 lens (click here). The M-mount lens cost US $1,500.00 and you have to tolerate the fungus on the glass

But guys that’s a 50mm f/0.75!
If you want it faster you need to find the Carl Zeiss 50mm f/0.7. It is a Limited production lens built for the NASA space program- Stanley Kubrick used it on a 35mm movie cameras for some candlelit scenes in Barry Lyndon! Story of the Zeiss lens is available here: http://www.visual-memory.co.uk/sk/ac/len/page1.htm

2 years ago |0.75 may be partially occluded entering a µ4/3 camera – depends somewhat on the adaptor. The limit for proper µ4/3 lenses is ~0.95 due to the aperture coming out the back of the lens and the distance from there to the sensor (20/22).

2 years ago |as some guy seems to have been using it on a M8 it should definitely work even better for m4/3!

The $1500 is giga ripoff =)

2 years ago |These are actually used for X-ray machines not on camera, the F-stops dont actually fit the rules on m4/3 sensors or film.. maybe for an x-ray machine?

2 years ago |Definitely WAY overpriced at $1500 for this lens. Just because someone built an M-mount for it doesn’t make it an M-quality lens. Since it’s an X-Ray equipment lens, the backplane distance is only about 0.8 cm, which means this lens can only be used for macro/close-up shots. Certainly it gives a unique bokeh, but IMO it’s not worth the price as advertised. I’d guess someone will bite and buy it though =).

2 years ago |Acutally, the owner NOWHERE says this lens has M-monut.. He’s only saying that someone has M-lens like this. Also monut of this lens doesn’t look like M-mount..

2 years ago |Come on, the lens is sold from CHINA. Of course there is going to be a ripoff somewhere. If it wasn’t for the price of the lens it would have been for the shipping. I bought myself a similar lens a few months ago (a KOWA 42mm f/0.75) paid 65$ shipped. Made myself an adapter to my Canon 50d using extension tubes, it just happened that the rings were exactly the same size as the back of the lens and voila!
