I have one and the performance seems similar except you have to get a C-mount adapter for it. At least one seller on eBay sells this including the adapter for a little less than the SLRmagic, at least you could get other C-mount lenses and use it with the adapter.

3 years ago |Interesting. Not that sharp, but it has m4/3 mount, no C-mount adapter needed. Manual focus only, of course. Hopefully, these Chinese factories start adapting even more C-mount lenses to m4/3. That could bring Noktor ( which basically did the same thing ) prices down.
If Panasonic and Olympus cannot make lenses people want, than Samyang, SLRmagic & co. will …

3 years ago |yeah i think this is a converted “fujian china” lens which costs around $40-50. i’d rather have that + a C-mount adaptor so I can mount other cctv lenses

- AF?
- full lens/camera communication?

3 years ago |I think this is the CCTV lens that I introduce in HK to one of the forum. the cost of it, is just about US$20. it is overpriced. The below is the link that I teach people how to mod the lens. Those are in Chinese, but it have pretty much photos

I’d rather buy a 40yr old canon lens than this plastic junk. You arent even getting true DoF, its just blurry. Good luck with focusing.

I see it more as a specialty fun lens like the lens babies.
The samples at DPreview forum show that it’s actually quite sharp around the focus point, even at f/2. Further away, sharpness decreases strongly, but for some purposes this is not a problem per se.
Don’t use it for critical sharpness shooting, but let your creativity run wild otherwise

SLR Magic
3 years ago |This is a special lens that is designed for the four thirds image sensor and will not have any vignette as there is full coverage of the sensor. The lens D and rUY referred to is designed for 8.8×6.6mm sensor and is not suitable for DSLR four thirds sensor which is 18×13.5mm in size.
