I’ve been saving up for the 12mm F2, but I don’t think $50 off is going to quite do it. $299 for the LX7’s 24mm equivalence on the other hand…must resist!

I was waiting for some holiday discounts on the new cameras. Snapped up an E-PL5 from Cameta Camera for $599 with kit lens. I am feeling the holiday cheer now.

  • =0 Lx7 for 300.-
why such deals dont exist in europe?

    • jimbo

cuz you guys didn’t have pilgrims and indians!

  • Steve

E-M5 black body is $854 at mostlydigital in Canada. 12-50 kit is $1139.

  • Allan

Got myself a PM2 with 14-42mm and 40-150mm lens for $598. The $200 discount for the 40-150mm (when purchased with PEN or OM‐D one lens kit) is so worth it!

    • Memo

Can you only get that deal from the Olympus website? I’m trying to find the same deal where I don’t have to pay tax.

      • Allan

Got it from BHPhoto, no tax for CA delivery.

        • Memo

Ah! Thank you very much. 😀 I’ve been wanting an OM-D, but the price of the E-PM2 is so tempting! I would like to pair it with the Panny 25mm. Hmm.

          • Allan

I’m hoping for a price drop on the 25mm.

  • Picked up an E-pl5. My fist Olympus body. Really looking forward to using it in low light here in the Norwegian winter. With the excellent high ISO and IBIS allowing for lower shutter speeds on wide angle lenses, it should be a great combo.

  • Kinda krazy B&H is closed Fridays and most of Saturday and make no exception on Black. Presumably they’ll honor the cart when they open. Totally insane policy.

    • Friday and Saturday are the Jewish weekend. How is that crazy? I have never experienced B&H not holding up their end of the bargain.

    • corkcampbell

“Totally insane policy” Huh? Since founding, they have respected their employees’ religious beliefs at the expense of some profit, and have never strayed. Sounds like commitment to me. Duh. Let’s see, who’s has an “insane policy” by closing on Christmas? You might want to work out a few values…or take a look at re-prioritizing…take some classes at your local community college about multiculturalism.

Note: I’m not Jewish and I don’t work for B&H, but this kind of comment just rankles.

Thanks for the post! I bought an Olympus E-PL5 kit with 40-150mm lens. My first m43 ever, and great savings! Now I need to dump some Canon gears to get prime lenses in the future.
