O please please Olympus, either anouce the E-5 VERY SOON or at least give us some teasers slash production updates like you did last time. At the same time I am sure the whole PDF file was a huge cause of us not currently hearing anything.
We do understand that Mico 4/3 has taken allot of resorces, & is opening a new & good market for the company & us the consumers. Though IMO & personal experiance allot of people that almost bought Olympus 4/3 products did not due to the seaming uncertancy of the Pro range. Though my perception might be a little diffrent than others, due to teaching photography classes & otherwise mostly shooting with other pros.
I love Olympus products, inovation, & most of all the quality of the lenses. Every product cycle Olympus comes out with some new more inovation, & better way to photograph. It is copied within months, & put out on the maket
by companies with better sensor tech(size).
So my requests are tri part
1. Do a better job with you're patents so at
least you make money from thier copies.
2. Take you're pro line more serious,
distinguish the lenses more even by color,
shape, stripes, etc., people want a very clear
upgrade aim (like playing football in highschool & collage can lead to the world cup). The
reason 80% of people tell choose Canon in class is "the pros have white
lenses". Now that Nikon has a serious black PRO cam & lens, let alone ALL of the Hollywood contracts you need something new & diffrent. The tiny blue & silver at least needs to be bigger & on everything Olympus.
3. Captilize on the tech that you origonaly pioneer in DSLRs roll out, even if it results in a "s" model a year after into. I am not willing to invest $10k in a second system to lug around with me to shoot video. I have honestly lost about half that in the last year because I have not, & I will not be waiting more than a couple more months to either get an Olympus E camera with HD or switch systems. Of all the Pro Olympus shooters that I know, 3/4 have switched in the last year either due to much better high ISO or HD video, though everyone still love Oly lenses.
There are many stregths to the 4/3 system, the origonal Olympus announcems I belive said; smaller, faster, cheaper, easier to make, quicker production cycle, cheaper & faster lenses, sharper lenses, lighter system, etc. So high ISO is the trade off, beat the pants off on the streangths.
I am 100% serious & legit about the PRO line being way behind. Since not being able to keep up on ISO, & some sensor tech might want to shorten product cycle to 18 months.
