There is some room for improvement, like a camera with flash AND built-in IS (i want cheese AND dessert . Recording video in youtube/flickr format (h264/aac), like my compact camera. (M-Jpeg sucks, it’s to much card hungry VGA tactile screen. leveling system, panorama scene mode, Microphone jack, High Res viewfinder, fast and cheap zoom lens, PC controled camera, built-in gps (geottaging is cool), built-in wifi for instant photo sharing, and/or bluetooth for cellphone photo exchange and sharing.
Camera constructor are very conservative, where in digital era mate.

yeah, Sony vision – they’ll bundle it with PSP and phone…
Let’s see if they have resources to support parallel FF, APS-C and micro APS-C systems with lenses… stop kidding yourself. Most likely they intend to sell it to compact shooters, automatic, cheap body, max. 2 superzoom lenses..

Sony built Betamax, let us not forget. Being first to market is going to be a big advantage for m43, Sony’s Minolta heritage hasn’t really given them any edge at all, optically. The Carl Zeiss lenses may be their saviour, though. At best, they can hope for a share of the mirrorless market, I would not expect them to overhaul m43.
