2 years ago |that is awesome, this video camera would be great to stick my leica lenses on. Need the 5k for a noctilux though.

2 years ago |I wonder when/if we’ll see an under-$1000 camcorder with the m4/3 mount & sensor? The technology is already there in Panny’s GH2 — they just need to fit it in a cylindrical body and maybe add an HDD or SSD.

2 years ago |People buys large sensor camera for shallow DOF. Usually fit camera with fast primes, so if somebody plans to buy Sony fs-100 (rival), this gimmick certainly does not change his mind.
I am not trashing the camera! but those lens are such a waste:)
@Douglas Excactly, and starting at 12mm

2 years ago |Ultra shallow DOF is bit of a lazy “artistic” device and I have seen film makers create so much bokeh it becomes distracting and unwatchable…
There is such a thing as the right amount of DOF including deep DOF (remember Orson Welles in Rosebud)…
Bobby
2 years ago |To me ultra-shallow DOF is the nuclear option, to be used when you think the background is beyond redemption, or when you fear your actor isn’t charismatic enough to dominate that background tree for attention, or just when you want to say ‘hey everyone! Think about my cinematography rather than the plot!’ It can easily be used way too much, I think.

2 years ago |It’s been a few months since i bought this camera, hardly worked with it. For 6 months ms crittenden and all the others have announced the so called ultimate camera. It turned out to be a big disappointment (see: http://www.jonghfilms.com). And now effectively we are told that Panasonic has priced this camera way to high! This is dreadful.

2 years ago |This statement makes no sense. Why is your camera not being used? There are plenty of people, me included who think the af100 is fantastic. Much improved over the hvx200. I use it for business every day. No regrets.
