2 years ago |I’m quite impressed with the lenses they produced. I use their 85mm/1.4 Nikon mount on Oly 4/3 and Canon APSC. Have tried the 14mm as well.
I really hope Samyang will be also making lenses for micro4/3 system, with micro4/3 ‘dedicated’ focal lenght not just FF adoption.
Such as 40mm/1.4, 17mm f/1.4
Well, I know Zeiss, Schneider Krusnach, and Voigtlander are already entering micro4/3 but why not get the ‘cheaper’ alternative too?

2 years ago |That’s a bit on the late side to be coming out with a 4/3 lens right now… Those Samyangs are pretty interesting: looks like decent quality for a very good price.

2 years ago |Who need 1.4 manual lense for 4/3? If I need it I just get any legacy lense for a couple dollars. Where’s the AF lense?

2 years ago |Its FT not µFT and I dont think a legancy lens would have same quality as this 35 1.4 and a legancy 35 1.4 wouldnt be that cheap anyway.

2 years ago |Exactly, legacy 35mm focal length lenses are widely available at f/2.8. The aperture of the Samyang lens is not so common. Maybe there are some Leica lenses, or Voigtlanders. But both of these will be more expensive than the Samyang (even s/h).

2 years ago |lol 35mm f1.4 is not common ???
please tell me you are kidding
Nikon has it, canon has it, leica has it, sony has it, sigma has 30mm f1.4
And besides if you think legacy lenses are not that sharp, you couldn’t be wrong
I own lots of legacy lenses some are old Russian made, and they are sharp but more importantly sharper then all the m4/3 lenses.

2 years ago |I have the ProOptic 8mm f/3.5 lens.
It’s Samyang under one of their many rebranded names, use it with Nikon m4/3 adapter. Very good manual focus quality at relatively low price. An image taken with this lens:
Also some interesting video with this lens and the Samyang 85mm f/1.4:
