I was really hoping to pre-order the silver+14-42mm kit from them but I guess I’ll have to go with Amazon since they’re they only game in town right now. Just don’t understand why B&H has to shut down online ordering for holidays when they won’t be processing orders until Oct. 3 anyway…
On a side note the Canadian site Henry’s has the black body and black+14-140mm available for pre-order: http://www.henrys.com/search.aspx?keywords=GH2

I want a laser-cut leather piece on the right side of the front. I wish the silver top was all silver and not black. If only the grip was a little bit less protruding and the top more flat rather than angled. It would be much more attractive. However, Olympus isn’t giving us anything to compete with this in terms of video performance, so I am all about the GH2. Nonetheless, it is more function than fashion.

2 years ago |the video performance of the GH2 isnt much better than the ep1/2/epl1
it shoots 1080i video which is interlaced meaning literally half the information of 1080p is actually being recorded
marcram
2 years ago |It also shoots native 1080-24p at at~25 mbps avc. This is a huge improvement. Plus there are frame rate options including 720p-60fps. Additionally, the interlaced mode can produce progressive results if the shutter is less than 1/50 for PAL and less than 1/60 for NTSC. These are HUGE improvements over what can be done with any Olympus camera.

2 years ago |Cool Joe. It just sounds like he has a crush on EP1/2 over the GH series. I personally have an EP1 and have made many videos with it. Unfortunately no manual control over shutter and iso is very limiting. To me, this is the first hybrid camera that is forcing me to update the EP1. It is a big step forward although not as sexy looking. I hope the pro-styled Olympus has video specs of the GH2. I’ll upgrade again.

2 years ago |And another thing, the GH2 probably looks better than the more compact cameras when larger lenses are adapted. They look kind of weired on an EP1/2 or GF1 if you ask me.
