January 10, 2010 |No prices released yet, but I’d expect the 14/2.8 to be similar price to the Olympus 17/2.8, maybe a bit more.
Same length as the 14-45 kit lens, only about a stop faster and no IS. Small size is the only real selling point I can see. Should be a good combo with the GF1 etc.

January 10, 2010 |Not sure what is so great about the 14mm F2.8? It just seems too close to the 14-45mm F3.5-5.6 doesn’t it? Is it worth paying an extra $400 to go from F3.5 to F2.8? I would like to see a 14mm F1.8 or F1.4. That would be cool.

January 10, 2010 |We now have – maybe still not perfect – two choices: zooms or primes.
Set of:
- 14mm
- 20mm
- 45mm
is nice small light!
Can be used for walkaround photos and video, plus portrait and macro. Comparing it to 14-45 doesn’t make sense to me.
There are people who want zooms, and there are people who will not touch them, when above set is available.
Free choice

January 10, 2010 |14/2.8 does sound pretty perfect, given that it looks to be even smaller than the 20mm stock….hopefully they will price it aggressively (who am I kidding)—
I’ve always wondered why not go the route of the rangefinder with accessory viewfinders–but make them “intelligent” via the hotshoe (like TTL flashes) and have a few of the framelines and focus points etched in them with some LED backlight, so that it would blink when you were in focus/show which framelines selected, etc….guess it would be tough to make them cost effective and the target market would hate to carry around all sorts of extra little bits….oh well, bring on the GF2 with EVF+screen please!

January 11, 2010 |Why again 14mm ??? I really get bored of 14mm as nearly every Olympus/Panasonic zoom starts with 14mm !! 11 or 12mm would make sense to me and also could be interesting as additional lens for those who normally prefer a zoom.

January 11, 2010 |[...] [A.B.] [...]

January 11, 2010 |Cannot wait for the 100-300! If there is one lens that I am ready to pay premium price, that has got to be it. 600mm on such small package, thats awesome!
As for the other two…
the fisheye might be a cheaper ticket to wide angles than the prohibitive 7-14. Will have to see.
As for the 2.8/14, I am sorry, I just don’t get it. Meerly half a stop faster than the kit lens won’t make it a low light champion. For the compromise, you get no OIS. I could have used a bit more bulk and at least f2.0
