Panasonic GH2 video resolution beats the rest of the world, the 7D, VG10 and even the AF101!

Oh what a surprise! The german website Slashcam.de tested the new Panasonic AG-AF100 (or AG-AF101 in Europe) and their final verdict is very positive. The AG-AF100 is more “practical” and has less Moirée and Rolling Shutter than any HDSLR out there. But a closer look reveals how the GH2′s was able to resolve more detail, with less moire and aliasing than the AF100 (via: EosHD). That tiny cheap GH2 really rules 
Slashcam also compared the GH2 vs the Canon 60D and Nikon 7000: “Our comparisons show a significantly higher native resolution of the GH2. Even the noise performance and the artifact formation at higher ISOs is much better“…”the Panasonic GH2, as expected, is the current slashCAM reference in the video DSLRs“.
Panasonic has a real winner with the GH2 but I don’t know how much they are aware of it. The GH2 is still out of Stock in US (hey 6 months after the announcement!!!) and the fast zoom lens is still missing (why delay the 12-50mm zoom?). Anyway, once again thanks to all Panasonic engineers for making such a nice camera! Thanks!

2 years ago |no problems getting one in the UK — although some suppliers go out of stock from time to time, the only real issue is finding the best deal. Just ordered mine which should be arriving on Tuesday

2 years ago |I’m fed up of others making GH2′s reviews. As someone said, GH2 is the best camera you will never own.
And I believe that reviews are not enough to convice people that GH2 is better, in some aspects, than a 60D. All my friends are going to buy 550D, 60D or even 7D because, in the worst case, everybody knows how good or bad Canons are. I’m the only who would “take risks” and show it to those who, despite all reviews, don’t believe in GH2.

2 years ago |The performance of the AF-100 is very dependent on the lens used and the camera settings ( the default settings have problems ), so without seeing a full breakdown on the lens and the settings used during the shoot, I won’t trust the results of this test.

10 months ago |The GH2 really is a great camera, but it needs a lot of practice after using DSLRs for a while and the manual (as always) leaves a lot to be desired in terms of helping understand features.
The little 20mm pancake lens is fab and makes a lovely light camera with shallow depth of field for carrying around.
