Panasonic GF2 review at Hardwarezone (GF1 discontinued at BHphoto!)
Hardwarezone tested the new Panasonic GF2: “There’s a lot to like about the Panasonic Lumix GF2. It’s amazing how Panasonic has squeezed more features like a touch-screen and full HD video recording into a smaller camera, no doubt helped by the removal of the Mode dial and the use of a smaller battery. With the GF2, Panasonic comes closer to the goal of a compact camera with a large sensor.”

In the meanwhile the Panasonic GF1+20mm kit is discontinued at BHphoto (Click here)! Amazon is still selling the same kit (Click here) but it is out of Stock right now. But you can find the GF1+20mm in Stock at Adorama (Click here)!

3 years ago |It is very annoying that after writing a longish reply the site doesn’t accept the CAPTCHA code and hitting the back button doesn’t bring back what I wrote. There have been a couple of instances when this happened and I didn’t bother to reply again. This discourages people from commenting.

Interesting that HardwareZone reporting GF2 slightly faster auto focus than either the GF1 or the PENs while Pany official web site says the GF2 can auto focus in only 0.2 sec or 50% faster?
Also noteworthy the DCfever review which I cannot translate shows the GF2 and GF1 to be about equal in low light conditions up to ISO 1600 but at ISO3200 the GF2 show much less noise and is about a stop faster?
The CAPTCHA Code worked the second time around for me this time.

3 years ago |Admin – Suggest when posting news on regarding the “smaller compact camera” you post a picture of the GF2 with the kit mini 14nn/2.5 designed for it. I went back several days and still could only find pictures of GF2 with the larger 14-42 kit lens.

3 years ago |Am sorry to see the GF1 w20/1.7 bargain disappear so soon as hoped to be able to handle a GF2 in comparison before chosing. I would have thought Pany would have continued to make the GF1 production longer so new model must be near.
Anyone noticed that the new flash on GF1 is mounted further from the hot shoe so now there actually is space to use a new larger resolution sized EVF on this model?
Pany could also make the new GF3 from the GF2 by simply extending its width by 3/4″ for small EVF to left of screen and with control dial mounted on top?
