    Based on the Dkamera.de tests, I actually prefer the G1 RAW output to that of the G2. I think they cranked up the processing a bit too much on the G2 in order to add that extra stop. The G1 is sharper and shows more dynamic range over the G2 for the same settings.

    both Jpeg and raw are better on G1 and the WB also better on G1 too. looks like G2 is selling gimmicks.

  • It looks to me as if the pictures have been processed differently, the G1 Raw images having more softness and less noise, indicating a stronger noise reduction by default, but if the processing had been the same, I suspect the resulting images would have been hard to distinguish – and that’s at pixel-peeping level.

    It is therefore the G1 that is cranked up, not the G2.

  • Did anyone else notice that in many of the comparison shots on dkamera.de, the G1 had longer exposure, making the G2 look noisier? Not much of a fair comparison…
