Panasonic CM1 1-inch smartphone camera review at DC.watch. Shipping in France and Germany!

The most viral new announcement at Photokina was the Panasonic CM1. And it’s now for the first time in Stock at Panasonic France and also shipping in Germany via local dealers. The CM1 is a 1-inch sensor smartphone camera. It delivers the best Image Quality on any smartphones yet released.

We don’t know yet when the CM1 will ship in other countries but DC.watch got their hands on an unlocked camera and posted many image samples. Those are their thoughts:

– They found it cool that you can activate and use the camera without to have to enter the Pin code to get out from the sleeping mode
– Shutter button is well placed on top right of the camera
– It has the same Q.MENU as the Lumix series
– You can use the lens ring to control the digital zoom. You can also set the physical ring to control the aperture
– Autofocus is quick
– There is some issues with camera shaking at long exposures.
– Nice background blur
– Very good macro performance

Overall the reviewer is very happy with the CM1. Usability is high, Image quality unmatched by any other smartphone. He really hopes Panasonic will see this in Japan (and other countries) too starting from early 2015!
