Digicameinfo spotted that Olympus officially registered the name of the new E-M5II camera at Taiwan’s Nccmember.ncc.gov.tw site. This means our rumors are 100% correct as we reported the name of the camera weeks ago along some crucial info like:

same 16 MP E-M5 sensor
sensor shift shooting mode to create up to 40MP on the fly with up to 8 images combined
no 4K recording (but improved video quality over the E-M5)
announcement first week of February

One more thing: There will be one more Olympus camera announced before CP+. Likely a fixed lens one.

One of my best sources told me that one of the Panasonic next MFT cameras will be an entry-level camera with 4K video. No details yet on specs and release. The next major photography event is the CP+ show in February so maybe it will be announced around that time…

UDPATE: And I got info about a second non-4K MFT cameras right now. Hope to get details about that one soon too…

Surflove:I recently had a few photos of Sydney’s summer storms featured in the news and papers. I used the Live Comp feature on the Olympus E-M1 to capture lightning and storm clouds. I believe it’s a great function to capture these things (and many others) and I wrote an extensive article about it on my blog on what it is, how it works and how it can be used: http://surflove.com.au/chasing-storms/ Not sure if it classifies as a ‘rumour’ but it definitely is a unique feature only found on a 43 sensor camera, which not so many people know about and even less actually use, so I thought I’d ask if you were interested in sharing it.
