Chris: “I recently had a few photos of Sydney’s summer storms featured in the news and papers. I used the Live Comp feature on the Olympus E-M1 to capture lightning and storm clouds. I believe it’s a great function to capture these things (and many others) and I wrote an extensive article about it on my blog on what it is, how it works and how it can be used: http://surflove.com.au/chasing-storms/

(FT5) Panasonic GF7 to be announced at CP+!

Share

gf7

The Korean Agency RRA registered a new and yet unannounced Panasonic GF7 model. The camera is likely to be announced at the CP+ show in February. And all I know for now is that it’s not going to have 4K recording. This means that in early February we will get at least two new MFT cameras. The Olympus E-M5II and the Panasonic GF7. Note that also the GX7 (Click here) and G6 (Click here) are marked as discontinued…

(FT4) E-M5 successor records All-Intra video at 50Mb/s. Has No(!) 4K.

So far we know the E-M5 MarkII will be released the first week of February, feature the same E-m5 16 MP sensor, and have a new up to 40 megapixel (8 single shot combined) sensor shift function. For those interested on the enw video features of the camer well this is what it’s “rumored” to have:

– It does have clean hdmi-out
– all common frame rates and video optimized af-algorithm.
– 50Mb/s all
– no 4K recording

A good improvement over the E-M5 video functions. Maybe Olympus will add 4K on the next E-M1 successor….

It can upgrade old camera wifi function at very low price to enjoy tethered photography with live view. It is the website at www.caseremote.com, http://petapixel.com/2014/12/30/case-remote-turns-phone-tablet-wireless-remote-dslr/ see petapixel report

Chris:I recently wrote an article on my blog about images captured with the Olympus E-M1 and the Olympus PT-EP11 underwater housing using a Panasonic 8mm f/3.5 fisheye. They are a range of ‘Mocean Blurs’. I used slow handheld, shutter speeds (as low as 1/20sec) to capture lightning and waves breaking in a storm. http://surflove.com.au/mocean-blur/
