It’s official: Schneider changes his mind and will not make any MFT lenses!

schneider

It’s official! Photoscala reports that Schneider withdraw the plan they had to release the three MFT lenses in 2015. So we will NEVER get those lenses! Actually the decision has not to do with a change regarding their specific Micro Four Thirds strategy. The company completely changed their focus. They will now move away from the classic Photo Lens market! They will stay in the market for Large Format lenses for Linhof, Alpa and Cambo and develop lenses for the Industrial and Cine market.

That’s bad news althaugh….Schneiders proposed MFT focal length lenses are already available within the Panasonic/Olympus lens repertoire.

Blkphoto:I bought a Rode NTG 4+ the other day and wanted to test it out and see how it performs so I put it on a boom and hooked it up to my Tascam DR-70D and filmed with my Panasonic GH4. I recorded the audio separately and also sent the audio straight to the camera. I switch back and forth between the different audio sources and labeled them so you know what you are listening to. I leveled everything out to about -12db and peaking at about -6db. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDPDyJf32Jk

Fake: GX100 specs (new sensor and new 5 axis stabilization).

gx7

The discontinued GX7 at BHphoto (Click here)

I saw those specs on “a site” and I only wanted to make you clear it’s 100% fake! So don’t trust them. They say the GX7 successor name is GX100 and has those specs:

Few details other than it will be the LX100 of Interchangable lenses, have built in 5 axis stabilization, and from what I understand a brand new sensor.

Please not that Panasonic already officially registered the GX8 name. It’s not going to be called GX100 :)

New Nokton 10,5mm MFT double test.

Mirrorlessons posted a Voigtlander Nokton 10.5mm f/0.95 Gallery:

The fact that there were many straight lines in my photographs also brought out the slight barrel and perspective distortion produced by this lens, which is nothing out of the ordinary but worth keeping in mind when you are compositing your shot.

Focus Numerique (gogole translated text) writes:

The optical quality of this 10.5 mm disappointed us. In short, it is sharp in the center but only at the center. As soon as one moves away, the details become blurred. Finally, the focus ring is much too long. It’s almost unusable, even with the best digital assistants Manual Focus (peaking and magnification).

New image samples can be seen at Dylan Cuthbert Flickr page.
