(FT5) More confirmations: Leica 100-400mm announcement in February at Cp+. First small hands-on report.

The 100-400mm lens displayed recently at Salo De La Photo (Image via Focus-numerique).

A second trusted source confirmed the new Leica 100-400mm lens will be announced in February at Cp+ show. And yes the price should be around $2,500 (Panasonic did not share him the exact final price info).

The source also had the final prototype lens in his hand and said he was actually “impressed how small it is” compared of the impression you get from the pictures. It’s close to the [shoplink 56517 ebay]size of the 35-100mm X lens[/shoplink].

Panasonic 25mm f/1.7 review at Addicted2light.
Panasonic GX8 Field Test: Great design & great sensor make for a fantastic camera (Imaging Resource).
Panasonic Lumix GX7 review at Photo Daniel.
German Panasonic 42,5mm review at Digitalkamera.

Fredrik:I have compared five different fisheye lenses: http://m43photo.blogspot.com/2015/11/fisheye-lenses-compared.html
My conclusion is that the Samyang 7.5mm lens is the best for Micro Four Thirds use, with a low price tag and a very good performance. The Olympus 9mm body cap lens is also interesting, with a quite good image quality for the price.

E-M10II sensor gets tested at DxO: “Solid performer”

Share

dxoem10II

DxOmark (Click here) tested the E-M10II sensor and there is not surprise at all. The sensor is the same as the one used on the E-M1 and E-M5II:

With the addition of the vaunted 5-axis stabilization (albeit a modified version), an improved high-res viewfinder and some worthwhile tweaks to the handling, including the useful AF targeting pad, the E-M10 II no longer feels like a entry-level model. Combined with an accessible price and a sensor performance that’s similar to the mid-range E-M5 II which in turn is close to the very best 4/3 format sensors there’s little doubt the E-M10 II is an attractive option and solid choice.
