Olympus is doing right what Panasonic does not!

Sadly sadly Amazon US delayed the in Stock status for the GF1. They promised us to have the GF1 in Stock today but now it says “in Stock on December 16!”. Remember, the GF1 has been unveiled on early September!
The good news is that Olympus surprised us all and they have the Olympus E-P2 Camera with 14-42mm Lens and Electronic View Finder in Stock before Christmas (only 1 month after the official announcement). And you also get $50 cashback by amazon (that makes a total price of $1,050). Sadly european stores don’t have the E-P2 in stock like here for example: Amazon Deutschland

Adorama and B&H are happy to ship the camera.

4 years ago |Tell us more about “$50 cashback from Amazon US”. I’m not seeing this anywhere.
Great reporting over the last few weeks–thank you for it all! This is a major development phase for mft.

4 years ago |For out of stock things on Amazon, we ran across an interesting trick that alerted us within seconds of when a Canon we were looking for came back in stock. It’s free and I guess people are using it for hot items like Zhu Zhu pets or anything that is out of stock there. It runs in the background on your computer, and actually monitors stock at Amazon, and and sounds an alarm the moment your item comes back in stock. It’s great for avoiding inflated third party seller prices, and instead getting the regular retail Amazon price. http://www.azproductsnatcher.com

4 years ago |We recently got our Nikon D3000 DSLR Camera with the Nikkor Zoom Lens by using a website our neighbor told us about. She said it would make you first in line for an Amazon find, and I didn’t believe her until I tried it. http://www.azgizmo.com It’s FAST and FREE to use, and when something is out of stock it watches the inventory levels for you. When they put stock into inventory this site grabs the first one and places you on the purchase screen. Kinda like jumping to the front of the checkout line at Walmart with the product in your hand! I was tickled. Hope this helps someone.

4 years ago |…except I don’t care about the E-P2. It seems like an odd choice for an E-P1 successor and falls short. I would prefer to go with no new camera for the holidays rather than order an available E-P2. I’m holding out for new Panasonic cameras next year. If Olympus releases something that catches my eye, they might get my purchase then, but it certainly won’t be for the E-P2.
