I think it would be a good idea to differentiate between Amazon and Amazon Marketplace in “deals” posts like this. Anyone can sell on Amazon Marketplace so it’s not really “Amazon” you’re dealing with. In some cases fulfillment is done through Amazon but in most cases you are just dealing with an individual seller.

I wonder if there will be any new models between now and Christmas–either from Olympus or Panasonic. Or is it pretty much set until next year?

I would not expect anything new, if you intend to make a purchase for a gift. It takes a lot of time from announcement to promotion to availability 2 to 3 months min , by then the season will be mostly over. This season it will be a battle between the m3/4 and the Sony Nex. It appears for various reasons that Nikon and Pentex will not be able to get enough product out.

I do expect some real deals on Black Friday, the day after thanksgiving in the US. Maybe a EPM-1 for 400 dollars or a EP-3 for 700 dollars. Selling off the remanding EPL-2s and such is a start.
