2 years ago |Bummer. I wonder what the news source is for early to mid may only for larger shipments of 12-50 and body only kits. Not that I dispute that as that appears to be what is going on/going to happen.
I’d really, really love my OM-D silver body only before I go away for Memorial day weekend the end of May (and it would be fun to have for a wedding I am attending on the 19th).

2 years ago |Mine also went to backorder right after I ordered, so I went to the forums to check out other people’s status. After an hour or so, the status updated and it looks like it is going to be shipped from the warehouse and received tomorrow = ).

2 years ago |BH does not have stock, despite them listing it as such. I went through the whole order process, had my card charged and then my shipping notice said backordered. Cancelled, last time I deal with them.

2 years ago |I guess my order got in just in time. I revisited the product page and the kit was back to backordered state on BH. Checked my order status and it’s “In stock, order sent to warehouse.” Phew! I am not canceling my body-only order on Amazon until I get shipping notice though. Things always can go wrong…

2 years ago |I’m so glad I looked locally last minute. This whole ordeal has been a terrible for Olympus. Hell it made me leery to buy the camera with how badly they screwed this launch.
But I got it, and I’m loving it mostly thus far.

2 years ago |This is actually par for the course with most camera releases. Ask anyone about the D800, GH2, NEX7, etc. etc. It’s still bothersome, but it isn’t an Olympus-only issue.

2 years ago |Olympus did not screw up the launch. The preorder demand has been much greater than they anticipated (which says a lot about how good this camera really is). They are still much better about releasing new products than Panasonic.
BTW, I ordered Feb. 7 from Amazon and am still waiting. But it is worth the wait.

2 years ago |I won’t sell the EPL2 until I receive it, but Adorama did confirm that the E-M5 + 14-42 was in stock at the time I ordered and it should ship out today or tomorrow. $99 premium over the body only that I had on pre-order and I will just sell the 14-42 mm lens. (I got the 14-42 II with my EPL2 and sold that immediately as well – the 14-42 mm just doesn’t do it for me, decent kit lens though.)

Not only is my preordered body only silver (ordered 8th Feb) going to take a while – but the 300R doesn’t appear in stock anywhere either. Sounds like I shouldn’t expect them before the deal closes
