Olympus E-M5 a hotseller ? (+ updated preorder list for US/Europe/Japan).
I don’t know how reliable those rankings are but at Amazon (Click here) the Olympus E-M5 is the most sold mirrorless camera of the moment. It even beats the X PRO 1. But we have to check back in a few days to see if that momentum will be kept or not.

2 years ago |Amazon rankings probably semi reliable of people’s intentions, that’s about it, we’ll have to see how it translates into hard sales (which I’m hoping/expecting to be good).

2 years ago |True, it is easy to pre-order knowing that you have 6 weeks or more to cancel.
Amazon US has stopped taking pre-orders for the D800 and I wouldn’t be surprised if it does the same soon for the E-M5.
I’m also hoping that the E-M5 is a big success.

2 years ago |When x-pro1 was out it was #4 on all digital cameras, while olympus is #14 in all digital cameras, so it’s rather nothing special.

2 years ago |Oly has 6 combination that ocupy 4 places on the top 5 while fuji only has 1.. Shocking?

2 years ago |So it’s not a Panasonic sensor but the numbers put it about gx1 sensor performance compared to the pens… Hmmm okay. The difference at this point is irrelevant and academic, as to who makes it then.

2 years ago |OR maybe he meant to say “no it’s not another ‘spiced up’ Panasonic sensor… It is identical to a Panasonic sensor.”

2 years ago |Everything but surprising: just have a look at a well-established french periodical called “Chasseur d’Image” and notorious (or supposedly so) for its 43 bashing. To say the least, they praised the E-M5. Its price being further very well-positioned, you got a winner…

Matthias
2 years ago |I think we have to wait before we can say something definitiv about the image quality. Robin Wong wrote, that he has to wait about 4 weeks before he will get a cam for testing, because of this: “I myself cannot wait to see how well the camera fares, but that will have to wait. Even Olympus Malaysia will have to wait for Olympus Japan to release their latest firmware update on the E-M5 before it can be used for any official review or testing.”
TB
2 years ago |Nice find… I’m really liking the output on the EM-5.
Tom
2 years ago |Too early to tell, but I’m really liking what I see from these two images. Nice DR in the snow image (look at shadows under the rocks), they must have used a polarizer to get that sky and cut reflections off the snow, so makes the shadow detail even more impressive. In the watch photo, at 100%, you can see individual scratches on the mechanism and hairs on the brown material – NR would have scrubbed that.
I’m sure Oly did some tricks to get these two images, looking forward to some independent tests, but looking good!

2 years ago |If we’re being technical, real money is gold, silver, oil and land. Euros and Dollars constitute governments’ mechanism to steal from society’s savers through inflation and perpetuate the welfare-warfare state. Yes, I did vote for Ron Paul.

Agent00soul
2 years ago |The E-D5 is much more mainstream than the Fuji X-Pro1, so it would be a failure if it didn’t sell more.
Camaman
2 years ago |Is the EU price officially set?
Is it really going to be 1099€ body and 1299€kit?
That is like 45% more for EM5 body than for EP3 14-42 kit !!!
In USA the difference between the two is 11% … That is shameful.
Is it something Olympus did in the past? Will the EU get price drops earlier?
