Olympus 9-18mm review on DPreview

http://www.dpreview.com/lensreviews/olympus_m_9-18_4-5p6_o20/
According to dpreview the image quality of the Olympus 9-18mm lens is more or less on par with that of the Panasonic 7-14mm
. The Olympus lens costs and weights less but the Panasonic lens has a better build quality, a wider angle and constant f/4 aperture.

3 years ago |Dpreview review pretty much confirm that the panasonic 7-14mm beat it when it comes to sharpness/CA/Distortion/Lens flare plus Panasonic got extra 2mm and F4.0 Through the entire range
But again 7-14mm is being sold for 999$~ right now and the 9-18mm will be sold for 500$ street price according to various websites

3 years ago |I’ll have to eat my words from couple of hours ago concerning announced and not available lenses
.
Haven’t read the whole review, but what was important to me is “The good news is that the 9-18mm substantially delivers – focus is practically silent, and a lot faster than the 14-42mm kit lens (which has been much-criticised in this department). It’s still not quite as quick as the Panasonic 7-14mm F4 in direct side-by-side comparisons, but the difference simply won’t matter in normal use.”
So that (almost) ends the debate on slow AF of Olympus m43 cameras. They seem to have corrected that with this lens (and new firmware ?). If they repeat (or better) that result with 14-150, than that’s a large plus for Oly and m43 as a whole …
