Olympus 14-150mm tested at SLRgear

SLRgear tested the new Olympus 14-150mm lens. They found the image quality to be very good. And like the other Olympus lenses it suffers from “some high chromatic aberration at certain focal lengths, but for the wide range of focal lengths the lens offers, it’s probably a small price to pay for the all-in-one versatility.”

3 years ago |Hopefully, Olympus will resolve the CA issue in some of their next firmwares. Lens has a bit of an issue with sharpness also, particularly at lowers F numbers.
For me, the most important sentence was the comparison with m4/3 Panasonic 14-140mm :”The Panasonic lens is sharper wide open than the Olympus, and marginally better when stopped down”. Between these two superzooms, the more you pay, the more you get …
And for those wanting the best 4/3 superzoom, there’s always Panasonic 4/3 14-150mm F3.5-5.6 OIS.
