Olympus 12mm f/2.0 videoreview at Digitalrev
I always enjoy to see those funny and not to much technical Digitalrev videoreviews reviews. They are good in highlight the “emotional” part of photography. The video on top shows their latest review of the Olympus 12mm f/2.0 m43 lens! Yeah, the price of that lens is a bit high but they liked it a lot! The lens is now in Stock in most stores. Check the availability and price by clicking those direct search links: Amazon, Adorama, B&H, J&R, eBay.
P.S: According to rumors the 50mm macro should be announced within the next couple of months but there is room for more of them! My suggestion to Oly…make a 17mm f/1.4 lens
P.S.S: Greetings to all the Digitalrev video team!!!

10 months ago |Are there also any reviews of the new Oly 45/1.8 available yet?
Mr. Reeee
10 months ago |Is the 45mm f1.8 even shipping yet?
Kai’s reviews are refreshing and quite funny. He does make the 12mm look AWFULLY tempting!
It makes one wish that Panasonic and Leica had designed the PL25mm with a similar switchable AF/MF system! That’s downright brilliant!

10 months ago |He doesn’t have an accent. He is british.
Mr. Jones
10 months ago |No I don’t think Kai is British, that’s the Hong Kong English accent. Hong Kong was under British rule until the late 90′s. You can read up on it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong_English
Maley
10 months ago |No, he is british. And thats not Hong Kong accent, his camera man is from Hong Kong and thats a Hong Kong accent it sounds completly different.

10 months ago |Kai lives in hong kong now, but he grew up in England. I’m not sure where he was born, but that is definitely a British accent and not the HK English accent that native HKers have.

He’s just talking like the Brits, LOL.

10 months ago |Just love the way kai does his reviews. With a touch of humour. Cant wait for the price of the 12mm to drop a little.

10 months ago |That silver E-P3 with the 12mm really is a beautiful combination.
As for Kai, he’s always pretty funny. He gets the specs in there, sometimes making fun of just how important they really are, but also talks about the experience of shooting with a camera. If you want a funny Kai moment, check out the DigitalRev Sony NEX-C3 review from 1:50-2:10. Cracks me up.
Mr. Reeee
10 months ago |Wow. No kidding. Brutal. That NEX-C3 review was a solid kick in the nuts.
Few not very good lenses are like a car with no wheels. 3D panorama? Living in a Sony world? OUCH.
Kai got a little raunchy there, too.
I don’t like the styling particularly, but the EP3 and 12mm sure look good together!

10 months ago |Yes Kai and Digital Rev do the right, out on street and use camera or lens, not only comments spec and test result in studio.

10 months ago |I wish Olympus made an 12mm 2.0 for 4/3rds.. I know…I know…micro four-thirds is where it’s at right now…
TR
10 months ago |I am totally with admin. I would happily open up my wallet for a 17mm 1.4 in about the size and shape and quality of the 12mm. 12mm is a bit wide for me (mind you i’ve never tried 24mm equiv), but a 17mm, I could do that. It would make a good lit with the new leica/pan 25mm.
Neonart
10 months ago |It doesn’t even need to be an f1.4 lens. A nice *sharp* 17 f1.8 or 2.0 would be fantastic!

10 months ago |One more generation and this will be the camera to have!
Next year many models will have EVF and more of these beautiful and modern lenses will be released.
Then you can call the system complete and functional!
Donald
10 months ago |That was one hell of a enthusiastic digitalrev video.
“One more generation and this will be the camera to have!” : Agree there.
The 12mm has saved the system in my eyes.
It’s brought my E-P1 back to life ( I use it with a 24mm OVF ) .
But I’m waiting for the EP-pro before doing a body upgrade.
At least now I’m confident that will happen.
Can we have a 25mm f/2 MSC next please.
Inge-M.
10 months ago |I think Olympus and Panasonic come by prim lens, line so is fast or pancake lens, so if we start by Olympus, fast 12mm, pancake 17mm, fast 20mm, pancake 25mm, fast 30mm and Panasonic, pancake 14mm, fast 17mm, pancake 20mm, fast 25mm, pancake 30mm.

10 months ago |A 17/1.4 makes sense. Olympus HG line should include 12/2, 17/1.4, 50/1.7 and perhaps 90/2.5. Add the PanaLeica 25 and the system will be complete. The only question that remains is when are we going to see them all.
