4 months ago |I´m not going to pay 400 euros for a bulky 17mm. A prefer a small 17mm for about 150 euros – even if it´s 2,8.

Even without 17/1.8, one with intelligent above flea baby won’t buy it!

4 months ago |Ahhh…. I thought it was the f/1.8 lens, so the 35% price drop got me drooling for a moment – that is until I realized it related to the *wrong* lens….

4 months ago |Understandable price drop on the 17mm F/2.8. Previous Sigma 19 & 30mm selling for $99 with same aperture & similar if not better sharpness etc. New sigma lenses (19/30/60) will be $199 on release.
Bring on the 3rd party lens manufacturers. Come on Tamron, hurry up with your F2.8 zooms.

4 months ago |Oly needs to cut the crap and price products reasonable from the Start rather than ripping Off a Few And then reducing Prices Only When Too Few people are buying. Shows no respect for customers.

4 months ago |I don’t see a scandal here. Remember the 17mm/2.8 has been around for a few years now, and have been part of lens kits for several models. The new price simply reflects the fact that it’s an old design, and worth less money today than before.

4 months ago |Hopefully the EVF price is dropping because they’re being phased out. I just spent 5 days in the Grand Canyon in (mostly) full sun, and trying to compose shots on a screen was an f-ing nightmare.
Built-in EVF on the new PEN (or lower-priced OMD), or Oly doesn’t get another dime from me.
