Next hacked GH2 footage. Batterygrip for the GH2 coming in August!
EosHD (Click here) made the video you can see on top by using the hacked GH2 with 42Mbit AVCHD 1080/24p! He mostly used the new amazing Samyang 35mm F1.4 lens (Click here to get that Four Thirds lens on eBay). In Short EosHd says that low light performance is just better, less electronic looking noise, less compression appears to have helped with banding on gradated tones, color and detail are much better. What do you think after seeing the video? The official Hack website is here: http://www.personal-view.com/
One more GH2 relate news. Do you remind the battery grip announced by the chinese company Ownuser? They delayed the product release and a dpreview forum user got the following message:
“Dear sir
We have project for GH2′s grip. We are very sorry, because some problems cause project delay. We also hope that GH2′s grip will be available at 7 / 31, but there may be extended to 8 / 15~30.
thank!Sincerely,
Ownuser Customer Service”
Our original article about the Ownsuser battery grip is available here: http://www.43rumors.com/battery-grip-for-panasonic-g-cameras-now-in-stock/
The G1 G2 GH1 G10 Ownuser battery grip is already in Stock on eBay (Click here).

11 months ago |Data rate is all well and good…. but the gold is in getting 1080 60p with these data rates! That will secure the GH2s place in history nicely!!!

11 months ago |I wouldn’t think the battery grip will provide longer battery life than a custom one I made recently. However it look part of the camera I suppose.
But:
8.4 volt Battery pack 4300mha – £23
LED Battery Checker (Allows you to check the battery life)- £6
so £30 for 6 hours of video and photographic shooting. Carn’t beat it

11 months ago |Can you link to the pack you bought? Did you hack it together with the pana AC adapter?
Details please!

11 months ago |One thing I forgot to menstion:
1. You need a cable that goes from the camera’s DC coupler to the Tamiya battery pack. Its a male Tamiya to a DC plug (Now this need to be a particular size so you can ask http://www.component-shop.co.uk that a person called chris got a cable made for his camera and can you make one for you.
2. The DC coupler that you can buy from panasonic or ebay

11 months ago |I wonder if the increased data rates will reduce noise for still photography at higher ISOs, like 1600 and above? That alone might make applying the hack worthwhile.
I wonder how it would look with the Voigtländer Nokton 25mm?
Removing the 29:59 minute video restriction is a no-brainer!

11 months ago |What? Doesn’t make any sense…
Video bitrate has nothing to do with RAW image quality or the JPEG engine.
If you need absolute IQ use RAW as it’s lossless.

11 months ago |Okay. I figured the question was a stretch, but you never know.
Yeah, I shoot RAW.

One quick note, instead of “Do you remind the battery grip announced…” it should be “Do you remember the battery grip announced…”

11 months ago |i can’t really see a huge improvement, because of the online compression, but the images are well composed and was good eye candy.
i liked the music taken from the movie “blade runner”, it was fitting.

10 months ago |With storage getting cheaper and faster by the day, isn’t it time to rethink the codec used for video compression? And AVCHD seems to have some licence issues as well. there are now external encorders recording in ProRes for under 1000 USD/Eur, and Alexa directly recording in ProRes. There are other free and better codecs than AVCHD, too, like CinemaDNG or Dirac.
