Next $50 price drop on the E-M5.

Share

Right now Sunset Electronics is selling the E-M5 body for $869.95 (Click here) and the E-M5 with 12-50mm lens for $1,109.95 (Click here). That’s $50 less than the current price at Amazon and BH. Of course it ships for free.

These are now among the lowest price we have seen on new E-M5 bodies. So if there will be really a low end OMD model it will have to be priced very low (like $600-$700). That camera will have to compete against the brand new Panasonic G6.

That’s not a very flattering angle for the E-M5, is it. Makes it look like an old Bertone design (which I usually like, but…).

no way the lowend omd would costs 6-700usd…maybe if it had ep3 senzor

    • easily, there are so many options which can be left out/changed of the OMD to make it really cheap.Maybe even another factory instead of the China one, but thats prob their only production plant outside of japan?

I am Not looking for a cheap one, im looking for a New One With Features who are State of the art. ( also Panorama stiching…). And it should Not be bigger-> MICRO 4/3….

This looks like it will be a E-PL5 with a build in evf.

I fear prices will rise here (in Australia) if our $ keeps dropping. USA policies that’s pushing their $ up & our own political climate is not helping the AUS$ at the moment.

well, yen is dropping as well, and that should also count in new pricings…

Right now, Digitec.ch has a special action offering a 10% rabate on all Olympus gear : bodies, lenses etc. it will last up to the end of the week (27 of June, but last year they made a prolongation).

For instance they are offering the E-Pl5 kit at 674.- CHF (8% VAT included), minus 10% that makes 606.- CHF. (Body only isn’t available here).

They are offering the E-M5 body for 898.- CHF, minus 10% that makes 808.- CHF (8% VAT included).

It is worth mentioning because we can rarely find such good deals here in Switzerland. By the way, Digitec was already offering the same 10% deals on Olympus stuff last year at the same time. So this isn’t unique to this year.

Sorry, but I’m not able to provide direct links, only the homepage is appearing in the URL line. But the online store is easy to find.
