(UPDATE) SLRmagic 11mm Toy lens

A short update about the upcoming new Toy Lens from SLRmagic. We have been told that it is a fast 11mm wide angle lens. Don’t know yet how fast the lens is. I guess there will be soon more news on their Twitter (Click here).
SLRmagic currently offers to manual, cheap not high quality lenses. They have the (only) advantage that you can use them without the use of any adapter:

I wonder whether the lens image circle will cover the entire micro 4/3 sensor, because if the lens is originally C-mount, it shouldn’t, at that focal length.

3 years ago |Just give you some reference. There are just 3 known manufacturers which can
produced lenses that can cover 1.3″ (4/3 format ) sensor. One is Schneider, but she just can produce 20mm as the widest. The other is Kowa in Japan. She introduced 12mm f/2. The last one is Doctor Optics in German making 8mm f/2.8.
However, all of them are expensive, 1000 EURO at least.
I really want to know what the hell is this 11mm lens should be? A professional copy or a vignetting beauty? I want to know eagerly!

3 years ago |Depends for what you’re using it … GH2 has an improved interface, sensor is less prone to banding and video encoding it’s quite good, but GH1 has a little edge in image quality when comes to stills (not quite a reason to prefer it over GH2) …
I own a GH13, and if the hack evolves into something else it could make it a lot better… same applies to GH2 if it gets hacked ;]
Those 11mm lens if not fisheye, might be kinda nice… currently, m43 wide angles are quite expensive :/
