New Rayqual adapters with built-in tripod mount.

Rayqual announced new Micro Four Thirds adapters with built-in tripod mount! The adapters are made for Nikon F, M42, Leica R, Olympus OM, Canon FD and Pentax K mount. Rayqual is a Japanese company and the only place where I found their adapters is on eBay (Click here). What you see on eBay are their “normal” adapters. I don’t know yet when those adapters will be on sale on eBay, but the Japanese website Rayqual.com says the lens will cost around 200 Euro /Dollars (converted from yen).

9 months ago |Admin, you told us something about a rumor of new lenses incomming from a third party company. Any news about that?
Thanks

9 months ago |Admin, would it be Sigma? They seem of implied something earlier in the year.

9 months ago |Very interesting. Would be super handy for big legacy lenses like the Pentax 200/f2.5 or Nikkor 180/f2.8 that didn’t come with a mounting collar…

9 months ago |At this price, one might be better off making an Arca-based long-lens support for use with the m4/3 body than buying this tripod-mount adapter.

9 months ago |Actually almost any mirrorless with a large aperture FX/DX lens mounted to it would benefit from this. I think it’s well worth the price. I’ve actually been asking for something like this for a while now (and was poo-pooed by the all knowing forum geeks)

9 months ago |According to dpreview “Aperture control is not available on the F and K mount versions”.
AFAIK, that means you can use your Nikon or Pentax lenses at widest aperture only, right? That isn’t so great, IMO!
Nick
9 months ago |Only the ones without an aperture ring on the lens (so in Pentax-land, only the current DA series)
All the earlier K-mount series will be fine.

9 months ago |These adapters still doesn’t work with aparture by wire nikon/lenses mount? Will the time ever come when we can adjust aparture on these lenses..? Does know any great manual aparture nikon/canon/leica/pentax lenses to be adapted to m4/3?

9 months ago |My Novoflex adapter for Nikon lenses on m43 bodies works very well and lets me adjust the aparture. Wasn’t exactly cheap, though.

9 months ago |There’s gazillions of great manual aperture Canon/Nikon/Leica/Olympus/Pentax lenses that can be adapted… It’s generally only the most modern versions that don’t have manual apertures…

9 months ago |I suggested this adapter to one of my ebay seller last year…that’s probably why it is out now
all the old lenses are made of METAL & VERY HEAVY! Will I see a penny from it ? NO, that’s ok.

9 months ago |Wow… 200 Euros/Dollars? Too pricey for me. I might as well weld a tripod mount to my existing adapters. But at least that option is there for others with the money to spend.

9 months ago |Let’s send a note to Fotodiox. They’ll make the same thing for $50.
Edit: They already have one? I couldn’t find it.

9 months ago |What a great idea! $200?!!! They can’t be serious.
@D Welding aluminum is tricky, especially something the size of a lens adaptor and I’d worry about it deforming the shape and maybe messing with the mount alignment. Some sort of mechanical connection (drilling and tapping screw threads) or a strong adhesive (or both) would be a safer bet.

9 months ago |Why so expensive? Some adapters from Fotodiox also have tripod mounts, with one 10th of the price…

9 months ago |its still not an optimal solution because when you use heavy lenses ,lets say >500 gr, the adapter/lens mount still gets alot of tension to endure. only the body mount is relieved.
pdc
9 months ago |But that should not be a problem. The lens mount is built like the tank that the legacy lens is – the tender part of the set-up is the in-camera mount and the lack of solid body in these light mirrorless cameras. There are Chinese made “tripod lens mount adapters” on eBay, generally $30 to $35.
Ulli
9 months ago |i think you underestimate the problem, no matter if we are talking about the mount on the body or the adapter, they are both not designed to carry heavy lenses in a tripod setup. only a tripod connector on a heavy lens itself can avoid problems. sure, you can use heavy lenses in handheld situations as the hand takes away all the tension from the mounts by properly positioning somewhere halfway the lens. btw the lenses used on the productphoto above are still within the limits regarding to weight.

9 months ago |When I was looking for adapters, I found some adapters with tripod mount on eBay. But as they don’t specify about the tripod mount in the title or description it’s hard to find one searching, I found by chance actually.
This one is tiltable too:

But for some reason, for the NEX system there are more tripod mount lens adapter options.

Jim
9 months ago |Just a little over priced….. $50 maybe… maybe

9 months ago |It looks like the RJ Mount (yes, it is with tripod mount), no matter on look or style but the price is about 4-6 times higher price.
