New PTool v3.61d with GH2 hack released!
Vitaly Kiselev just released the new updated PTool v3.61d at Personal-View.com (Click here). It brings the following new features:
- Wastly improved Video Bitrate patches.
- Many new encoder related patches for testers added.
- Few minor software bug fixes.

and it´s a disapointment… compare the e-p3 raw with the e-pl1 raws!!!
the e-pl1 raws have more details!!

2 years ago |If you look at the low ISO sample, the colour definition is better then both the G3 and the E-PL1.
My observation is across the board, the luminance noise is better then E-PL1 and may be even better then G3.
Where it far apart is when we reach 3200, the chroma noise dominated on this sensor.
So for practical use, this is probably an improvement.

maybe high iso is a little better with the e-p3.
i never go above iso 1600 and most of the time im below iso 800.
but the e-pl1 clearly shows more detail at low iso.

Until ISO 800 the E-PL1 images are sharper and have more details.
ISO 1600 shows that the E-P3 RAW high iso files are less noisy then the E-PL1.
Overall the Image Quality has not so much imrpoved that i would sell a E-PL1 to buy a E-P3 (not for IQ).

Oh, come on, you were thinking the same thing.
With this (somewhat underwhelming) latest round of cams, Olympus has left Samsung an opening, and they could steal the mirrorless spotlight.
Can anyone tell me why Oly changed the E-PL1 AA filter on subsequent cams? Was it not working well?
Regarding the sensor… I really was hoping for at least 1.5 more stops of DR, but no luck. Sony must have a lock on the technology.
I almost forgot, this is a GH2 thread. Can a G3 hack be next?
