Photographyblog (Click here) posted the full Panasonic GX1 review: “The new GX-series unfortunately doesn’t quite slot into place between the GF and G ranges, costing as much as the G3 with the same 14-42mm lens, so it’s more of a direct alternative rather to our favourite compact system camera of 2011. We’d still just give the edge to the G3 thanks to its built-in EVF and rotating LCD screen“. Even if the conclusion sounds a bit disappointed they gave the GX1 a “Highly Recommended”.
David Babsky posted a GX1 hands-on review at Steve Huff (Click here): “For a little micro-four-thirds ‘system’ camera, with many different lenses to choose from, the GX1 is the absolute best value available today“.
Also the german magazine Colorfoto (Click here) tested the camera.

2 years ago |Colorfoto’s points score certainly looks odd. I can’t quite see how they add up the figures, but perhaps it’s just my poor mathematics…..

2 years ago |They are notoriously stingy with points. The Olympus e-p3 scored 43.5 points ore thereabouts.

So over 50 points is pretty good I guess.

2 years ago |They like it. It’s very solid, goog image quality and very mobile. They say it’s scoring is 23,5 % above average. So not too bad.

2 years ago |are the ois-issues with the x14-42 still not sorted out? all samples from photographyblog taken at 42mm are blurry as hell. i really wanted to like this lens and was going to place an order, but it seems like all x14-42 so far are duds.

Those LED video light panel things look pretty interesting. The one mounted on the GX1 was lighting the top of the lens pretty well, but if it were up a few more inches that problem would go away. I guess some sort of bracket that could handle one of those and an external mic (if you have a GH2) could alleviate that.
Still waiting to try out a GX1.

2 years ago |GX1 really a remarkable camera , I like it . Although there are great cameras coming out , I think I’ll keep this one while hunt another rangefinder camera , full frame equal .
Fuji & Sony likely to fill the bill .
