New Panasonic GH2 (with 1.0 firmware), 14mm lens and Voigtländer image samples.
Let’s start with a bad news. Not only the Panasonic GH2 Body Only is impossible to find also the SIlver GH2 kit has been removed from many online stores. Neither AmazonUS, neither AmazonUK
, AmazonFR
lists it anymore! You can still preorder it on Adorama and BHphoto (Approximal arrival December).
The popular Hong Kong forum OMuser (Click here) just posted the first image samples of the Panasonic GH2 with firmware 1.0 (those are the very first image samples we found that are taken with the final firmware). They posted samples from ISO 200 until ISO 12.800. Images are pretty clean up to ISO 800!
A set of image samples taken with on the GF1 with the new Panasonic 14mm f/2.5 lens lens has been posted on Flickr.
Again on Flickr you can find image smaples of the new Voigtländer 25mm f/0.95 lens. There is also a first hour report on dpreview written by a new lens owner. You can get the Voigtländer lens on eBay (Click here).
Panasonic 14mm f/2.5 preorders:
Amazon US, Adorama, BHphoto, Amazon Deutschland
, Amazon Japan
.

At 6400, banding shows up, but could be an emergency setting in shots without too many shadow areas. 12800 is not very useful imo. Very impressive results, but pity they weren’t able to fix the banding issue of the GH1 sensor.

3 years ago |I would say iso3200 looks spectacular actually, as well as iso6400. Though you’re right there’s clearly a fair amount of banding at iso6400 and iso12800, I would say all iso’s are usable in a pinch.
Actually I can’t imagine a time when anything above 3200 was necessary, at that point it’s esthetically better to use a flash anyway. This is very promising…

3 years ago |If you are using lightroom3 gh2 will perform very well. Since lr3′s noise reduction algorithm is amazing ISO3200 seems very usable with a little touch of LR3. I previously tested some firmaware 0.3 photos with lr3 and printed them on an A4 paper and results were very good.

3 years ago |Why do people keep saying you can pre-order the GH2 at B&H? At no point in recent weeks, or today, has that been so.
Also, ClickMyLinksWhore claimed the camera was “withdrawn” due to “faulty sensor”. In what way is ANY part of that statement true, since it is already on sale in Japan?

3 years ago |That doesn’t make much sense. The only difference between the black or gray model should be some external plastic. I can’t imagine there being any components internally that would be different?

3 years ago |I saw this too, there is no GH2 available for pre-order at Amazon nor is it even listed to find any information about the camera. I checked my preorder for the GH2 from September and it asks if I want to be be notified when it is available. what does it mean?
