New Panasonic deals (GF1, GH1 and more).
We are getting closer to the Panasonic press release on September 21. As you know we don’t expect any GF1 replacement soon. At least the GF1 is becoming cheaper (in US):
J&R via Amazon is selling the Panasonic GF1 with 14-45mm Lens (Click here) and Panasonic GF1 with 20mm Lens (Click here)
for $699 only. (Don’t forget to select J&R as Vendor)
The GH2 is coming soon but the Panasonic GH1 still remains a very good camera -> even if the Hack doesn’t work anymore ![]()
And again J&R via Amazon is selling the GH1 + 14-140mm lens (Click here) for $999.
Reminder: Today is the last day for the Olympus instante rebates:
You can save $100 on the Olympus 9-18mm lens. Click on those shop names to visit the relative product page: Amazon / Adorama / BHphoto
And you can save $80 on the Olympus 14-150mm lens. Click on those shop names to visit the relative product page: Amazon / Adorama / BHphoto

2 years ago |Hi Admin, 1.5 weeks ago you said you had some info regarding the delay in the GH2 sensor development. When will you reveal that information?
admin
2 years ago |As soon as it is FT5. Sources are very “minimalistic” now. All I can say now is that they are very happy with the GH2. If all works fine next week we will post some news.
Sorry for the delay!

I hope everything works out fine! I’m eager to hear anything about the GH2

2 years ago |The hack still works, but not with the newer Panasonic cameras which have the newest firmware. Unless panasonic release another firmware these cameras won’t be hackable.

2 years ago |No point yelling Marilyn, we will hear soon enough. To be honest I’m not going to believe the rumors, and just wait until we hear from Olympus

2 years ago |as far as i know all gh1 from before june 2010 productiondate are still hackable, if they haven’t been unboxed yet. so if you can find a retailer who still stocks a few “older” ones from beginning of this year you shall be safe. anybody can confirm this?
on another note, will the new gh2 be likely to outperform a hacked gh1? any info from your sources dear admin?

2 years ago |If the GF1 is $549 in Japan perhaps it will get down to $499 in another few months? The upcoming NX100 looks to have a similar body and might put even more pressure on GF1 pricing.

2 years ago |The main issue keeping me from getting a GF-1 is the lack of a 12-XX zoom for m43. 28mm FF equivalent FOV (14-XX) is just not wide enough for me for a standard walk-around lens. Any more rumors of a 12-XX lens for m43?

2 years ago |John, apparently there is a very fast 12-75? Coming from panny. I think it starts at f/2.2. It’s been mentioned on this site before – I think it will be bundled with the GH2
