2 years ago |I had no problem downloading and installing the Mac version. It recognized that I had Olympus Studio 2 installed and offered to migrate the database and libraries over to the new program (I declined). There is no problem in having Viewer 2, Studio 2, and Master 2 all installed.
Downloading some test images from my camera (used an E-1) went fine and initial processing tests showed no surprises [but this is based on only a few minutes of testing.]
Unfortunately Viewer 2 does not have the detailed camera control of Studio 2, and Olympus has not indicated whether this will be available in the future.
Worse, the program will not do camera updates for the E-1 – it says that this model is not supported. In practice, I don’t think that updates are likely, but they might come as a result of some lens changes. I think it is a bad move for Olympus to not support the update feature for any of the 4/3 or micro-4/3 cameras ;-( I have reported this problem to Olympus.
