New Olympus E-5 review and GH2 and 14mm tests

The Polish site optize.pl tested the Olympus E-5 camera with good results. The final score is 62.82/100. For comparison, the Canon 60D got 59.56 and the Sony A55 got 48.88. We’ll have to wait for the D7000 and K-5 for more direct comparison.
m43photo.blogspot.com compared the new Panasonic 14mm lens with the 14-42mm and the 14-140mm lenses.

2 years ago |Check out Jean-Baptiste’s ISO test between GH13 and GH2, very interesting – the GH1 was much more sensitive.

2 years ago |There seem to be many reviews and new products for u4/3. Not so much for 4/3, except the E-5. I am not wedded to a mirror, but I prefer the ergonomics of a full size camera for the types of photography that I do.
I stll don’t see the E-5 as a significant upgrade to my E-30, except for weather-sealing and a weak video offering.
I am still waiting for a regular DSLR-size camera with DSLR speed processing, a built-in EVF that rivals an OVF, weather-sealing, and a high-quality video offering. If such a camera has a u4/3 mount, then great. Right now the GH2 comes the closest, and all the Pens have a flat form factor that is not ergonomic for large zoom lenses.

2 years ago |Although, the E-30 takes good photos, the numerous comparison tests clearly show that the E-5 has significantly better IQ than the E-30, plus the E-5 has these other features that you failed to mention:
a bigger screen
a far better screen resolution 920k vs. 230k
faster operating speed
faster auto focus
HD video
sd card slot
stronger body (magnesium alloy)
longer shutter lige (150,000 vs. 100,000)
better viewfinder
dramatic tone, film grain and other useful and fun filters
I’m sure I left some out, but the E-5 is undoubtedly a formidable upgrade to the E-5.
