3 years ago |yes oly, please build this compact mft-cam in 2010, coming with a tilt-screen, body stabilisation, high iso like the gh1 and internal evf… and if you can also deliver a fast 14-25mm zoom, we’ll throw away our panasonic gear and wear big “oly made my day” t-shirts

3 years ago |The E-P1 is a fantastic camera that has taken me from a G10 amateur to more of a interchangeable lens enthusiast. I think many wouldn’t mind if the camera got a little bulky (and more expensive) to include the internal EVF. Basically a much smaller Canon 7D with video like with full manual controls (like E-P2) as well. What more could you ask for with current technology? I’m skipping the E-P2 until this camera comes out.

3 years ago |In line with the other comments above – I’m hoping for at least the following key elements:
Image Stabilization
Built-in EVF (fast refresh rate like G1)
TTL Hot Shoe (I would upgrade from my present FL36 to FL50)
Fully articulating “Live View” LCD
No more than 12MP (in the interest of better ISO performance & higher DR – surely the megapixel race is over by now?)
18 – 180 or 200mm “walk-about” lens (I’ll add more specialized lenses later)
In other words – a mirrorless version of the E-620 plus an m43 version of the Zuiko 18-180mm. (As a starter kit – like Oly did a few years back?).
I’ve been waiting patiently for some time, Oly, and the money is burning a hole in my pocket!

3 years ago |I would love this mocked up camera if they actually built it. Internal VF, built in flash (doesn’t have to be super-powerful), keep the in Body IS (a major strength of the E-P1/E-P2) and make the screen on the back up to 460k or better (a MUST, even with a VF). This would make it the ultimate digital rangefinder, which it’s really only pretending to be at the moment. It’s SO CLOSE!!!

3 years ago |To be the “ultimate digital rangefinder”, wouldn’t it need…a rangefinder? That said, I agree that a capable internal VF would make it an attractive, far less costly m-mount capable alternative to the M9 (which I’d call the current “ultimate digital rangefinder” titleholder).
