New GH3 video sample.
A day in Montmartre – [Panasonic Lumix GH3] from emeric on Vimeo.
Some little news about the GH3:
Our friends from Hybridcams shot that nice video with the GH3. Thanks for sharing! And our reader Twills sent me this: “The Panasonic GH3 specs page is being constantly updated as the firmware is finalized. The shutter duration spec did not specify a “Bulb” mode time limit before. Now it says it goes up to Approx. 60 minutes. That is great news as the GH2 is limited to 128 seconds in Bulb mode:
Still Images: 1/4,000 – 60 and Bulb (Approx. 60 minutes)
Motion Images: 1/16,000 – 1/30 (NTSC), 1/16,000 – 1/25 (PAL)
Keep an eye on the page below to see what else is updated when the firmware is finally complete.

GH3 preorders at Amazon , Adorama, Bhphoto, Panasonic US, Samys and in Europe at Wexphotographic UK and Technikdirekt.

7 months ago |Finally someone gets their hands on a GH3 that knows what they’re doing.
I cannot for the life of me comprehend why Panasonic insist on placing pre-production models almost exclusively in the hands of rank novices, who then litter the net with horrendous looking images and video. Pany could learn a lot from Olympus in this regard.

7 months ago |As a rule, I’d need to see behind-the-scenes or on set video of the author actually using that camera, as was done during Philip Bloom’s demo, ‘Genesis’.
I hate to sound mean but baring a little moire at 1:28 and 2:09 this looks more like an FS700 than GH3. However if it is straight out of a GH3, un-hacked but graded for scale and color, I’d have to agree that it’s the best I’ve seen so far.
Well done emeric!

7 months ago |Do you also not believe still images are from new cameras unless you see a picture of someone taking said image with the camera?
Paul Alexander
7 months ago |Correct. All so-called tests need to be proctored. Its too easy to spoof readers and without full metadata, I could shoot with an FS700 and ask you to believe it’s from a GH3. However, I have experienced the wider apparent DR using – contrast setting on other cameras so it’s quite possible.

7 months ago |Interesting and very appreciated to see the long-exposure Bulb mode. I’ll bet that’s possible because of all the work they did with sensor heat dissipation in order to handle the new high-speed video modes. Another example of why making the GH3 a better video camera also benefits the stills photographer.

7 months ago |Cooling is really more for the processor because processing and compressing video takes lots of work.
If you’ve seen pages (like Chipworks, Lensrentals blog) where some camera has been stripped to parts none has cooling element for sensor.
Unless we’re talking about astronomical cameras.

7 months ago |This is the first video I have seen that made me want to buy a GH3. The image is stunning. That said, I think my GH2 could have produced this video. No?
