In a couple of shots it looks like he’s scope-sighting using just the hotshoe as a guide. I do that when shooting the 20mm or 14mm on the street. If you’re shooting wide enough then you and spray-and-pray faster than trying to frame with the LCD.

You’re right. Some of the focus effects early on seemed deliberately manual. But then later on there was some random focus hunting that was distractingly electronic.

The hood is very effective (although expensive). It does a good job of protecting the lens and is just right for eliminating stray light.

Great review, the GF2 would make a good travel camera. And good call on pairing it with the 20mm lens.

Great review, but to be fair to the GF2. It’s the same sensor so the images will be just as good as the GF1. And you don’t need to use the touchscreen, you can control everything from the manual thumb wheel.
