Seika commented on the blog post (FT2) Hot (false?) rumor: Panasonic to buy Olympus imaging division??? 8 months, 4 weeks ago · View
It’s been busy month recently. that Google bought Motorola and HP’s PCG might be on sale thing. Why not do ride the flow and make rumours about Panasonic and Olympus. Wishful thinking, sounds sensational, and barely believable.

While it’s might be possible (in term of measurement only) to fit in APS sensor inside the cavity if the plastic rim inside is removed, the electric contacts part would definitely cast shadow on the sensor when used in the APS mode. I think the possible solution is to branch the mount standard and move [...]

Seika commented on the blog post (FT5) New Olympus Flash and new Olympus external EVF coming too! 11 months ago · View
Some old post somewhere seems to suggest the official statement that GF1 accessories port doesn’t have the bandwidth for larger video size, so assuming the GF2 and 3 is using the same specification, better EVF might not come. Also it’s just for the GF, which is a third of their lineup (G and GH don’t [...]

Ah, seen those Aputure before. It’s just look bulky above the camera.
The JXD does look cheap enough for a not so serious use. Thanks
About the accessories port, does it also support signal to the camera ? I guess it does because of the LCD/EVF switch.

I want accessories like those off camera hot shoe (with twirling cable like phone cord) that also plug into the accessory port in addition to the hot shoe pins. Instant off camera viewfinder, maybe with addition of remote shutter button.
No practical reason, only because it seems doable.

Seika commented on the blog post New Panasonic G3: A close focus on image quality 1 year ago · View
As a novice in camera technology, long time I thought the low ISO is somewhat a conquered land. It will be generally the same between sensor and probably get benefit as technology got better (quality goes up) so the challenge to be watched for is the high ISO, which will be handy when it gets [...]

Stupid question, if the shoulders are made flat (like the GF) instead of tilted like this, will it be ugly and more difficult to use ?

Seika commented on the blog post General Electrics will make “Micro Four Thirds alike” cameras… 1 year, 1 month ago · View
1/2.3 is more than 5 times crop factor. Imagine how wide the native lenses would be. Even a 20mm wide angle 35mm lens would become 112mm equiv.
How fun would legacy lens become with that ?

and a boutique Lumix for anniversary edition sounds a lot more sense.
They wouldn’t be making lots of itOr maybe… selling old stock of LC still in their warehouse with lipstick on it as commemoration edition.

They have like… two years of sales figure to grow from ? Would it sounds reasonable enough for that double growth he talked about.
Want to see how he would say if it has decades of sales figure to grow against.

Seika commented on the blog post Take a look at the original Panasonic GF1 patent 1 year, 2 months ago · View
If they choose to put the battery under (or above) the sensor, wouldn’t the camera shape become boxier than now? They would have to add space underneath to put the battery (a la battery grip?) which doesn’t exist in the patent illustration
Would make the camera look bulkier IMO

If the body specification of m4/3 doesn’t specifically ask for software correction, there wouldn’t be anything to stop them from making a m4/3 body with somewhat perfect lens. Manual 25/.95 is still accepted as a m4/3 lens. Imagine, a Leica m4/3 camera that do marvelous with Leica m4/3 lens that doesn’t need any software correction… [...]

Thought it would cause vigneting because the light already passed all the lenses and the light coming out is forming the image circle. Besides, the review does say 1~4 is identical because the image sensor in m4/3 is smaller so closing the aperture doesn’t give any visible effect. But the sample photo seems to show [...]
