Typical 43rumors forum post:
(before lens is released) — I’d give anything for a faster, wider lens with more zoom.
(after lens is released) — I’m not paying more than $400 for a lens… guess I’ll just stick with my kit lens.

Better yet… just update the design of G-series cameras with more of a rangefinder style. That way you are not adding yet another series of camera.

NativeFloridian commented on the blog post (UPDATED) E-M5 sound issue? Shipment delay in Europe (video roundup) 1 month, 2 weeks ago · View
And the minimizing continues… Again, I’d like to stand up for Michael! He is simply bringing up an ‘issue’ that he did not expect when he upgraded to a new Olympus camera. While a constant humming noise may not affect your still photographs, that may not be true for everybody. I’d prefer that we all [...]

NativeFloridian commented on the blog post (UPDATED) false alarm on the E-M5 sound issue. Shipment delay in Europe (video roundup) 1 month, 2 weeks ago · View
@Michael Given your prior posts on this website, I find your account to be quite convincing. I’m sure that finding out that your new camera emits a constant humming noise can best be described as “an unpleasant surprise”. For some unknown reason, there seems to be an alarming number of people looking to minimize your [...]

8mm or 9mm wide-angle prime lens* -> inexpensive** *this lens on a compact E-PM1 would be the new cameralens combination for all real estate agents. **does not need to be fast and I don’t mind heavy distortion correction if needed. The lens could even have a fixed aperture (between f4.0 – f5.6) to reduce on [...]

+1. A wide-angle 8mm prime lens. It would immediately be the best friend of every realtor for architectural shots and result in many new micro-four-third system purchases. Here’s my idea to make it INEXPENSIVE… use heavy post-processing distortion and vignettin correction. As far as I’m concerned it could even have a fixed aperture. If it [...]

Size is less important to me. Would like it to be around $300. Good luck, Samyung

NativeFloridian commented on the blog post Olympus E-M5 shows less rolling shutter video jello effect. 2 months, 2 weeks ago · View
Sounds like you answered your own question! I personally don’t need the viewfinder or weathersealing… so why would I want the extra size, weight, and cost associated with.
Anxiously awaiting the E-P4 (actually I’m guessing they call it the E-P5)?

G5 = rangefinder style with EVF
Brilliant! Easy move for Panasonic… I’m sure they will see better than the G series (no sarcasm)

NativeFloridian commented on the blog post (FT2) A GH3 spec list from Asia… 2 months, 3 weeks ago · View
The appeal of the GH series is limited by its dSLR styling. Any move to make the camera look more like the NEX7 or the OM-D (more rangefinder like in a smaller body) would be a step in the right direction. Bigger grips and more batteries can always be modular.

DISAGREE. Before I spend $1000+ I would like to know what I am buying. The sensor is a part of any digital camera and is not that different from other ‘features’ such as EVF and the weathersealing. If the sensor is similar or identical to the G3, I’d like to know that as it helps [...]

NativeFloridian commented on the blog post Olympus: PEN cameras can have built-in viewfinder, E-7 already planned. 3 months ago · View
I am most interested in the next PEN (E-P4) and I hope it comes WITHOUT the viewfinder… I don’t want the extra expense and size when I know I will use it infrequently.

“Get the exposure right to begin with and DR isn’t an issue” And what if you (or the camera’s auto option) doesn’t get the picture right? You’ve missed a chance to capture an image that may never present itself again. As you are aware, more DR allows for a greater margin of error and in [...]
