Thanks a loooot! This was exactly the answer I expected, so now I don’t worry about it at all. Such a high optical quality for such a little money – this should be the only important thing regarding this lens.

A bit OFF, but would Olympus 45/1.8 owners tell to me whether it’s normal for te focus ring to have very slight but easily perceptible play along the LONGITUDINAL lens axis? The lens is brand new, I bought it 3 days ago. By the way, this wouldn’t be a real problem but I wonder why [...]

Hi, Guys, I just had the chance to keep an EM-5 in my hand while visiting Drupa Düsseldorf (during Fotokoch-Fototäge). What can I say? The camera is even more beautiful than as you might think based on published images (at least the silver version), the display is gorgeous, the focus speed is really fast. The [...]

One thing is sure. Buying the G3 one year ago wasn’t a hasty movement at all.

As I understand no other major improvements in sensor technology (better SN, DR, AA etc.) should be expected as well.

Dear friends, I know it’s a bit OFF but I need your help! I’ve just bought a Pana 45-200 second hand, but the seller said the lens was new, or at least “like new”. My big problem is that I feel the focusing to be much louder than I’ve got used from my 14-42. The [...]

Regarding of RAW image quality comparison:
The quality order is actually the order in which the cameras are presented. Though big difference can be observed just in case of X-Pro1 (far the best) and E-PM1 (far the worst). NEX-7, E-M5 and GX1 seem to be in the same ballpark.

No way to be better, in-body IS cannot came even close to lens OIS for bigger focus distances. The only (but really strong) advantage is that you have IS with all lenses, not just with stabilised ones.

kesztió commented on the blog post E-M5 RAW has better Signal-to Noise ratio and Dynamic than the X PRO 1??? (says Techradar) 1 month, 1 week ago · View
My dear colleagues, As Wikipedia says: “Dynamic range, abbreviated DR or DNR, is the ratio between the largest and smallest possible values of a changeable quantity, such as in signals like sound and light.” So DR has *N*O*T*H*I*N*G* to do with the RESOLUTION of representing these values, that is, the bit depth of the AD [...]

It’s a bit weird how the E-M5 can have better DR on ISO6400(!!!) than the GX1 on ISO200 – but nobody knows…

Moreover, the SAME lens on FF has BIGGER DoF than if it would been used on MFT (via adapter).

“The aperture will be fast and constant but it may not be f/2.8!”
As „fast lens” does mean F <= 1/2.8, it obviously cannot be slower than F2.8. -
kesztió commented on the blog post Really? Panasonic X zooms may not be f/2.8? 1 month, 1 week ago · View
If the rumor was true, the most plausible scenario would be that they just have figured that the lens is good enough even on F2.5.
