Give Sony a break, they can only release that many Zeiss a year. A couple year from now, they will still be behind m43, even if Panasonic and Oly freeze, which is unlikely. Nevertheless, I am confident that they will have enough good lenses to choose from.

It is well known fact that lenses retain worth and value much better than bodies does. Specially on the high end spectrum. Price will drop. They all do. But no where near to 50% of the initial cost. If you are willing to wait a whole year, I expect the retail price to stabilize to [...]

I am currently satisfied with my combo : 1.4/25 + 14-140 .
I find it to be a good compromise between versatility and size, one lens complementing the other very well. But my God is this new zoom desirable!!

Aperture ring does not feel awkward when using legacy lenses: I wonder it just a simple firmware update would allow to use that by wire thing for something else than focus when shooting in AF mode. PASM mode would tell.
Anyone, any thoughts on that?

Thats interesting. I’ve never had so far a camera free of design glitches, yet whenever something new is out, there is this aura of perfectness. I want to believe that the E-M5 is perfect
Good news is, despite spending too much time on the Internet, I am getting better at desiring what I already [...] -

I expect the 75mm to be good enough for most, regardless of how it compares to FF equivalents.

Fair enough, I forgot to insert the “on a fast prime” and thus my statement was on the sweeping side.

Fair enough my statement was on the sweeping side. IS is usefull. Not much so on a fast prime.

Either way, thats one too many mechanical component. The faster the readout and the cleaner the high ISO becomes, the more deprecated IS will become.

That has never been a problem to Nikon and Canon shooters. It still isn’t.
Actually, in the days of film, that has never been a problem for anyone.
How come has IS become such a big deal as wanting it on fast lens – fast ISO combo, this is beyond my understanding. -

All the best if a $3000 body with super high grade glass, sitting on a sturdy carbon fiber tripod out performs m43 at 2 extra stop of ISO. I don’t have that kind of budget to spare on photography, unfortunately. But this is being full frame centric to the core. :p Seriously, f2.8 is f2.8, [...]

Your average X Pro knows what he is buying, he knows the limits as well as pros and cons. At least in my imagination, your average “how-many-megapix?” customer will buy a compact, entry level canikon dslr on sale, bridge, etc. But certainly not a Fuji X-anything. For his own reasons and appreciation, he values it [...]
