The D90 successor is the D7000. Pretty nice camera IMO.

Who said it’s going to be $2000? Looks to be more like $1000-$1200
And honestly, please stop looking to m4/3 if you want such little DoF. I get enough nice blur with the 45mm side of my 14-45 at f5.6 so f2.8 or f2.5 or whatever should be excellent with the 35-100. -

You’re one of a very lucky few. Most times I see that FD 1.2L go for at least $900.

Olympus 7-14 is a constant f4. Get your facts straight. Fom pics I’ve seen, the Panny 7-14 holds up well against the Oly 7-14 considering its a little over half the SHG lens price and considerably smaller.

I agree. Why all the hate to these cheap cameras that drive the platform forward? When someone makes a fully featured camera (like OM-D) people complain about price. When someone makes a cheap camera, people complain about missing functionality. You can’t have both you know…

They would probably have to downsize that screen. But with all those extra features, maybe you want a GX1 with a built-in EVF? Having held the GX1, it is quite compact. The GF3 is mostly shorter and a little less wide.

I’m hoping it is now capacitive even though it will lose functionality through gloves because the resistive screens on the Panasonics aren’t responsive enough to my liking.

Do you expect ALL m43 cams to be high end enthusiast cams?
-
Jim Ramsey Khoury commented on the blog post (FT5) New Panasonic GF5 pictures! 1 month, 2 weeks ago · View
They released the GX1 as an enthusiast cam and the GH3 is coming later. Not every m43 camera has to be aimed at enthusiasts. Also despite the enormous cry for a side mounted EVF, having tried a NEX7, I can say it isn’t particularly comfortable since your face doesn’t act as a proper third contact [...]

The 12-35mm Panasonic isn’t power zoom as far I’ve heard. In any case, it has a proper zoom ring too.

yeah it would be nice if ONE of the Panasonic bodies included IBIS to give you a choice between it a d OIS. But that ain’t happening! In any case, IBIS is a plus for me, not a must.

Panasonic chose OIS for the video performance. AFAIK there haven’t been any tests for the E-M5′s video stabilization, so let’s see. Honestly, I’ve been making due without any IS on my G1 for a while. If I had two more useable ISO stops, I wouldn’t need any OIS. The GX1 gets me that.
