I think the only thing we can conclude from this test is that the person doing it doesn’t know how to do a comparative test.

I’m also waiting for the GH3. We all know it’s coming so why isn’t it on the poll?

Ian C commented on the blog post Full Frame battle reloaded. A no way to go for Panasonic/Olympus? 2 months, 3 weeks ago · View
I’ll buy full a frame outfit when I can afford a porter to carry it for me. I go hill walking with the 35mm equivalent of 14 to 600mm without any gaps plus a macro. There is no way I’d be doing that with full frame.

My first reaction to this was, it’s a wish list but now I’m not so sure. If it’s a wish list why would there be a 15.5MP sensor. It could be that they had to slightly lower the pixel count for a global shutter. (A global shutter is an electronic shutter that reads the whole [...]

With all due respect, ordering 10 bodies just makes you another small dealer just like Merchant City Cameras. How would you have felt if you weren’t allowed to order your Nikon bodies?

They were not complaining about others getting the best deal. I’m sure they appreciate that there will be discounts for those that have a higher turnover. It’s the fact that they can’t order the camera at all when they have been the only shop in the area that has actually supported Olympus by keeping a [...]

Olympus were quite happy to accept their orders for the lenses, viewfinders and pen cameras. It just strikes me as crazy that the only retailer that has fully supported the Olympus Pen range in the west of Scotland isn’t allowed to order the new camera when those that stock next to nothing from the range [...]

I’m sure they will be contacting Olympus U.K.. As they are not allowed to order the camera then obviously they can’t be part of the promotion. From what I can gather they are only accepting orders from Pen Elite Stockists and other key accounts such as Amazon. The joke is that Jacobs in Glasgow are [...]

This morning I was talking to Merchant City Cameras in Glasgow, Scotland. They are the only shop in the West of Scotland who stock a decent range of Olympus M4/3 stuff, the other local shops Jessops and Jacobs, both part of national chains, only stock cameras no lenses or accessories in their Glasgow branches. I [...]

The hole in the second picture is to the front of the camera prism the object I’m talking about in the top picture is to the back of the camera and if you enlarge the picture you can see there is something shaped there like a button. I’m just guessing at what it does but [...]

Then you think wrong. The mock prism houses the pop-up flash as was seen in the earlier pictures of the mock prism.

If you look at the top image there is something visible on the side of the viewfinder. It looks like some sort of switch or button. I don’t think it’s the diopter as that can be seen in the second picture. Also the part just under the hot shoe is curved. This makes me think [...]

I have to disagree high frame rates can be useful in some situations but a camera must have a low speed continuous as well.

I think the viewfinder in the older picture has the flash raised. It looks very like the prism hump of the E3 with the flash is raised.

Ian C commented on the blog post Astrodesign, Kenko and Tamron join the Micro Four Thirds group! 3 months, 4 weeks ago · View
Tamron do some of the best lenses out. They have 90mm macro, 180mm f3.5, 70-200mm f2.8, 18-270mm, 200-500mm any of these focal lengths would add something new to the M4/3 lens line-up.
